Cicada's sing in an unceasing chorus through the evening after an another hot day in the bushveld. Their slow, droning songs become trance inducing if listened to for extended periods, slowly ascending and descending in volume and micro-tonally in pitch.
Recorded in a dry section of the Limpopo river, located in Mmabolela Reserve, South Africa, during the 'Sonic Mmabolela' residency, co-organized by Francisco Lopez & James Webb. Many thanks to all those involved with the residency, and to the people who lent me money which made my involvement possible: Mum, Dad, Oma and Rachael.

Exceptional work. At the same level as "Time + Place" and that is saying a lot. Joda Clément is one of the best sound experimentalists of our time
